Solar Eclipse=amazing.
I went out with my best friend last night, spent today recovering, and am now enjoying an amazingly ostentatious display of a few dozen yellow roses on my coffee table as I get things ready for work tomorrow. Mia's life= not so bad currently.

I need a spa day.
That said I'm apparently trying to waste some time.

"You want to have sex with him!"
"Who?"
"Jordan Catalano , come on you can tell me"
"I just like how he's always leaning, against stuff. He leans great... either sex or a conversation, Ideally both."

Dear Netflix, thank you for having My So-Called life . Really. This just kind of made my current state of insomnia bearable. Love, Mia

Also men who lean? Hot. Jordan Catalano? Was the best leaner ever =)

I came across this and just had to share because it made me laugh. It's also pretty on target.

Yea, I used that last one a lot at work today.

Greetings from... New York!
I've been feeling a tad restless for awhile, I'm just not used to staying in one place for a long time anymore. I needed to get out of town, and was craving a decent sized city. So I took some time off work and insisted my sister join me, and now here we are, taking a long weekend and enjoying one of the best cities in the world. So far it's been a great trip considering we got here a few hours ago and only managed to check into the hotel and grab a few drinks at the bar. Tomorrow should be a fun filled day of shopping, therefore I need some sleep. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

So I spent yesterday by the pool, enjoying the amazingly warm weather and reading a book. This was kind of the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon in my opinion. Too bad that it's only April and the weather won't last, considering we're supposed to be back in the 60's tomorrow. Still it was a gorgeous day, and I enjoyed myself. I was reading "The Lucky One" because sometimes a girl has just got to read a sappy Nicholas Sparks book. Plus, I want to go see the movie and wanted to read the book first. It was a pretty decent story, and was a great way to relax. I also met one of my neighbors that I haven't had a chance to speak with yet (Hi Danny!) it was a fun afternoon getting to know someone new.

Today was typical Monday morning back to work things. The Lumberjack games were a huge success, and we're kicking into high gear so everything's ready for the tourists. I love it, I admit to not being sure of I would love this job, but I really do.

In all the places I have been, I have to admit I've never run across something like the Lumberjack games. Then again, I tend to keep my travels to larger cities. I wasn't quite sure what to expect to be honest,it's been an interesting few days so far! Working for the visitors bureau means having a lot to do with an event like this. I've spent a lot of time working with many people getting everything together, and I have to say while watching some of the events? I have gained so much respect for anyone who dares to compete. Those events are crazy hard! Or at least they look like they are to me. Definitely beyond my skill level!

So good luck to anyone heading out there to try their hand at some of these things, and like I said before, so much respect for those of you who do this.

I have to admit I've had a pretty relaxing Saturday so far. My dad and Laurel leave tomorrow so I went over to the hotel to hang out with them for the day. Dad decided he wanted to explore some of the more touristy things around town, and Laurel wanted to have a girls day. So Dad went off on his own and I stayed with Laurel. We talked about heading into Portland to go shopping, but ended up watching movies. "Gone With The Wind", and "To Catch a Thief" are two of my favorite movies, and Laurel's too which has made for a great day so far. Clark Gable and Cary Grant were amazing leading men, and Vivien Leigh, and Grace Kelly were such beautiful women. I love the drama of "To Catch a Thief." You can't go wrong with Hitchcock! And the epicness of "Gone With the Wind" gets me everytime. Even if Scarlett is an idiot for not beon able to see how much Rhett loves her. Or how completely ridiculousness and worthless Ashley is in comparison!

Yea, I think today is going to be a nice relaxing day. What's your favorite "classic" movie?

O to feed my shopping addiction I was browsing the Coach website last week. I found a bag I decided I had to have and ordered it. It came today. I arrived home to find the box opened and the bag unwrapped from it's packaging and left lying on the coffee table. My darling little sister decided to open it for me. Isn't' opening someone else's mail a federal offense? Then again she also uses my shower because the water pressure is supposedly better. This is even after I started locking the door to my room when I leave for work. I have never been good with sharing space, or my things. Living with Audrey is turning into one big exercise in patience.

I was talking to my dad yesterday and he announced that he and my stepmom are coming for a visit next month. I'm pretty excited about this. I haven't seen him or Laurel since the holidays, and considering my work schedule, it's not looking like I will get a chance to visit them anytime soon. It's going to be interesting to see how my father takes to Heritage. Small towns aren't really his thing, I'm pretty sure the Lodge will at least meet his expectations though.

Also thanks for the chick flick recommendations everyone! I think I'm going to go with "Steel Magnolias." as our male repellent to ensure we get a girls night uninterrupted.

All right ladies (and gentleman who are inclined to know such things) I need suggestions for the girliest chick flick imaginable. The kind that no guy in his right mind would sit and watch even of he was trying to score major points.

I decided yesterday that I wanted to go someplace warm. I then realized that I have a job and can't just randomly take off like I have been very used to doing in the last few years. This kind of made me sad since I'm pretty over this winter stuff. I may take a three day weekend and go somewhere anyway. I just need to decide where to go!

In other news my little sister is successfully accomplishing what I'm sure is her goal of doing all she can to drive me nuts. My apartment is not big enough for the both of us in my opinion. Work is going well I still like the job which is a plus. I'm still meeting new people around town, given the size of this town I was a little afraid by a month into living here I would have met anyone noteworthy already. I'm actually pleased I was wrong about this.

The drama that seems to go on around here almost daily is still highly entertaining. I think my favorite part is that none of it is about me ! Oh, and I went to a party Saturday night. Met some people, had a lot to drink, it was an extremely good time. So thanks guy who threw the party, who's name I can't actually remember at the moment. You throw an amazing party!

I had a pretty amazing weekend! Friday night I went out with my friend Betty. She actually let me play makeover before we went out too. You know that line from the movie Clueless : "Cher's main thrill in life is a makeover"? Well that's kind of me. I love getting ready to go out, and helping my friends to do the same. This is Betty though, so she only let me do so much. I think we turned out well though. So did the guys we met while we were out. We drove out to Portland and had a blast, It really was just a fun night.
We looked awesome if I do say so myself )

Today was horror movie day with a friend. I'm not a huge horror movie fan, but it was all in the name of research! I can not unsee the gore I saw though. I may have nightmares. It was still fun though, even if I'm big on stuff like that. Can't beat good company. That's a fact.

My sister is still in town. Something tells me she's going to hang out for awhile. This could get comical since I'm not very good at sharing my space at all. Oh well, that's how life is sometimes I suppose.

I am in the mood to just go out and have some fun this weekend... are they any good places to actually go out dancing? Or is that something I have to make my way out to Portland for? And if that's the case, would anyone like to join me?

Time with my mother tends to lead to...headaches and a lot of drinking to get away from the house.

I seriously can't wait to get back to Heritage tomorrow.

In some ways it's starting to seem that Heritage has more drama than most of the places I've been in the world. I have to admit it's all part of the charm of this town. Then again I'm a girl who has always loved her drama. Whether it be my own or someone else's it tends to keep life a bit interesting.

I like it here. I didn't really expect to, it just seemed like a good place to try for the next phase of my life. I've always preferred large cities to live in. I didn't think that I would last all that long in a small town. I may be wrong. I don't know if I'd go as far as saying I'm going to be here for quite awhile, but I will say I like it. I like being around the closest friend I've really had since high school, and I like the people I've met so far. I could do with a larger selection of clothing stores, although I did see a boutique the other day I need to check out. Not that I need more clothes, but I've never been able to resist going shopping.

So far Heritage seems to be a good place for me to settle down for awhile. My job is going well, I'm finding my way around town, and something about being here just feels right, for right now. I need to do some more exploring though, so I'm enlisting anyone who reads this to help. What's your favorite thing to do, or place around town? Tell me what I should experience while I'm here!

I was checking out my Facebook today and came across one of my friends posting "I'm bored text me" followed by her number. Something tells me she will not be a happy camper when she's not bored and realizes she just posted her number for everyone on her friends feed to see. I know I for one have plenty of people I have friended on Facebook who I wouldn't actually want to have my phone number. Why do people do that?

In other news I've survived my first two days of work for The Convention and Visitor Bureau . Can I just say that with everything going on here? There is more work than I thought there would be for a town this size that's for sure. It's nice to be working though. I talked to my dad today and eve he's happy I'm working, now that he's gotten over that I'm not working for his company, or at least in London. Anyway it's been a very long time since I have had a set schedule to adhere to and I have to say it's a nice change. It's also nice to just get the hell out of my apartment after being stuck inside due to the weather.
